“Wealth that Matters” means to enjoy the present, create positive impacts on surroundings, and be thankful since we only live every day once.

After graduating with a dual degree in Finance and Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University and Schmalkalden University of Applied Science in Germany, Kim has gained hands-on experience in several industries, including medical imaging technology, a dental practice, and financial services. It struck Kim that her favorite part of every job was always meeting clients, having conversations, providing support, and acting as their reliable point of contact. As soon as she experienced how good financial planning can help people achieve their goals and live their dreams, she was sold on building her career in the financial planning industry. She soon obtained her Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™ designation and loves the role she plays in helping others on their own financial journeys!

Outside of work, Kim enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends. Her husband is a professional photographer, and they also enjoy taking photos, flying drones while traveling, and trying new things together.

Tell us about something special from your youth.

When I was a child, our family and neighbors usually gathered together to watch sports. I really enjoyed being in the atmosphere where family and friends gather together focusing on the game, laughing and celebrating, sometimes complaining to each other about the results. Some games could last until 10:30 at night or later, but since it was a special event, I was allowed to stay up late and enjoy the exciting moments with my family and neighbors.

Share an interesting story about your family.

My dad’s hometown is more than a thousand miles away from where we used to live. Whenever we came and visited my grandparents, we sometimes took a 38hr long train ride. To make our train trip more interesting, my dad stepped out at every stop to buy some unique regional specialties for us to try and learn more about where we had stopped. To me, that was my very first lesson about traveling and appreciating the cultural differences and diversity of the world.

Where have you worked? What is the best thing that has ever happened while you were working?

One of the best things I've learned while working is that being a good and functional individual in our society is a great way to help others. When you focus on your mission and responsibilities to provide high-quality products and services to our community, you end up producing value and inspiring others around you. By doing my job well, my co-workers can also perform better, and we will be able to help our clients focus on achieving their goals and dreams.

When did you first realize you were interested in finance?

My ultimate goal is to be in a career that I’m passionate about and where I’m able to help others. When I first started to work in financial services, I experienced that having a good financial plan can make a huge impact on people’s lives. Finance is one of the most important parts of everyone's life, and I understand that financial planning plays an essential role for people to afford their dreams and achieve goals. I love my career in the finance field because it aligns with my values and career goals.

What is the most important thing you have learned about helping other people?

I love to observe acts of kindness and how people show love and care to others. I guess it naturally came to me when I was a kid, I saw my mom helping others who were less fortunate. She taught me to respect and help others when possible. You know, people usually say there is a great joy in being a servant for those in need. After all, I believe in doing the right thing and doing my best to help the community thrive!

What are you known for among your friends?

A storyteller with a good sense of humor and a reliable spirit.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, helping with yard work, and cooking. My husband is a professional photographer, and we often spend time taking photos together and flying FPV drones. We also enjoy taking photos while traveling and trying new things together.

What book do you always tell people they should read? Why?

One of the books that I recently read again is the Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo. The story is about a shepherd boy who goes out travelling the world in search of his treasure after continuously having a repeated dream. I recommend this book because its easy to comprehend and the book is just simply full of hope and very encouraging. One favorite quote is “We’ll never be able to escape from our heart. So it’s better to listen to what it has to say. That way, you’ll never have to fear an unanticipated blow.”

One of Vestia’s values is to model “Wealth that Matters.” What does this mean to you?

“Wealth that Matters” reminds me to appreciate the journey when going for our goals. It means to enjoy the present, create positive impacts on surroundings and be thankful since we only live every day once.
