As an orthopedic executive who saw firsthand the transformative power of financial planning in his own life, Brad saw an opportunity to deliver value to orthopedic surgeons in an entirely new way. He discovered the published void of financial knowledge among even the most esteemed orthopedic surgeons, and joined Vestia excited to lead an amazing organization filling that financial gap.

Brad loves connecting surgeons with a Vestia Advisor as their ‘first assist’ for their financial life. He continues to attend conferences such as AAOS, AAHKS, and ACFAS annually and has been a part of financial education workshops for some of the nation’s premiere orthopedic training programs including Dartmouth, Rush, Cleveland Clinic, UCLA, HOAG, Lenox Hill, and OrthoCarolina.

Brad’s path to the wealth management industry is far from traditional. After graduating from Purdue with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Brad was drawn to business and held management roles in terrific large corporations such as Siemens and GE before beginning an illustrious career in the orthopedic industry. Brad’s foray into orthopedics started with J&J DePuy where he ultimately ran marketing for SIGMA® Knee, a $500 million brand that was ranked top three in the world at the time. He then moved to Zimmer Biomet where was Vice President of the $2 billion Global Knee Division before becoming General Manager of Foot & Ankle. Brad’s roles all focused on building businesses, creating and executing strategic plans, and developing individuals, all while modeling a balance between his career, faith, and family (what Vestia calls Wealth that Matters™).

Brad and his wife Krista live in Fort Wayne, Indiana where they raised three kids, and currently reside with their dog Wexford. Their daughter Kathryn graduated from Indiana University as a RN/BSN and works for Lutheran Health in Fort Wayne in Women’s Health – Postpartum. Brandan is currently pursuing a Masters in Counseling at Purdue Fort Wayne and Nathan is following in his dad’s footsteps studying Engineering at Purdue University.

One of Vestia’s values is to model “wealth that matters.” What does this mean to you?
To me, “Wealth that matters” means I’m able dedicate the majority of my time and efforts to my Faith, Family, and Career.
When did you first realize you were interested in finance?
I’ve always enjoyed the business aspect of my professional career, including creating strategic plans, and identifying key financial levers to pull. Moving to wealth management is exciting to me as I’m now able to be part of an organization that works daily to help our clients achieve Wealth that Matters.
Where have you worked? What is the best thing that has ever happened while you were working?

I have been fortunate to work with several large corporations, including GE, Siemens, Johnson & Johnson, and Zimmer Biomet. The best thing that ever happened to me was to attend a GE Corporate Training Course on “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” (by Stephen R. Covey). My intent to attend this course was to improve my effectiveness as a leader, but the most important learning I took away was to carve out time for family and worship, and my job would fill in around these events.
