“To be wealthy is to be rich in happiness, peace, and free from the burden of having to struggle for the basic necessities of life. It means taking care of the little things to ensure you have the capacity to find true happiness and peace in your life.”
Jen serves physician families nationwide primarily through virtual engagements. She loves being able to alleviate the burden of managing the finances so her busy physician clients have the capacity to truly do what makes them happy. Clients appreciate that Jen doesn’t jump to solutions before first understanding their purpose and passions – her goal is to help clients live not just their best financial life, but their best overall life.
Jen holds a Bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of Missouri. Her journey to finance was an unexpected one – Jen started her career in database management at the Missouri History Museum, and her database acumen led her next to a position at Scottrade. As soon as she started working directly with clients to improve their financial health she realized it was kismet. Jen holds her Series 7 and 66 registrations, life & health insurance licenses, and is an Accredited Asset Management SpecialistSM.
Outside the office, Jen regularly engages in yoga and meditation. She also loves hiking, camping, and traveling with her husband and daughter. They frequent Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas but love exploring new places as well!

Tell us about something special from your youth.
I won a poetry competition my first year at college – I was on the cover of the college newspaper and had to read it in front of an auditorium full of people!
Share an interesting story about your family.
We love cooking big breakfasts together as a family on the weekends whenever we can. Spending that time together to appreciate the little things like a home-cooked meal helps to set our intention for the day together.
Where have you worked? What is the best thing that has ever happened while you were working?
I have worked in many capacities from a coffee stand to telemarketing to organizing volunteers at a shelter for kids and families impacted by or infected with HIV/AIDS to the Missouri History Museum. I don’t know that I can nail down one example – it’s more like all of the time I’ve spent doing different things and being open to doing whatever it takes to get the job done has certainly served me well at this point in my life.
When did you first realize you wanted a career in finance?
I never would have guessed that I’d end up here! I started behind the scenes, but as soon as I started working directly with clients I was hooked! Meeting people and hearing their stories made me realize that helping people with their financial health is a great way to take something off of their plates and help them spend more time doing the things they love.
What is the most important thing you have learned about helping other people?
I love to help other people. There is no greater feeling than giving my time to help others, in whatever way they need.
What are you known for among your friends?
Being fun and always ready to try new adventures!
What book do you always tell people they should read? Why?
10% Happier by Dan Harris – it’s a firsthand account of the author’s journey into trying meditation and realizing that it’s a very easy way to improve one’s life. Why not try something that can potentially make you 10% (or more) happier?!
One of Vestia’s values is to model “wealth that matters.” What does this mean to you?
To me ‘wealth’ can mean a lot of different things, not just financial health (though that is important). To be wealthy is to be rich in happiness, peace, and free from the burden of having to struggle for the basic necessities of life. It means taking care of the little things to ensure you have the capacity to find true happiness and peace in your life as well as the time to work towards reaching your goals, whatever those might be.
