“For me, the true measure of success isn’t wealth for its own sake. It’s using recourses withn intetnionality to live a life of service, faith, and impact.”
Michael Trent is Co-Founder and Partner at Vestia Personal Wealth Advisors, where he also serves as Chair of the Investment Committee. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner, Michael leads Vestia’s research-driven investment philosophy, ensuring portfolio strategies are rigorous, forward-thinking, and closely aligned with clients’ long-term objectives. Michael specializes in guiding clients through complex financial transitions with clarity, accountability, and a deep commitment to fiduciary excellence.
Michael’s foundation in leadership and service began with five years in the United States Marine Corps as an intelligence officer, including a combat deployment to Iraq. His military service instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, integrity, and accountability that continues to define his approach today. After completing his service, Michael transitioned to the private sector, working as a project manager for a Fortune 500 manufacturer, where he helped evaluate acquisition targets and develop new product lines. Then at Vestia, Michael built a specialized advisory practice focused on helping high-earning professionals and business owners manage complex financial decisions.
His academic journey reflects this same pursuit of excellence. Michael graduated from Indiana University as a Wells Scholar, one of the university’s most prestigious academic honors, and later earned his MBA in Operations Management from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. He also served as part of the inaugural class of Pat Tillman Scholars, a recognition of his service and commitment to leadership beyond the military.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys golfing, fishing, and cheering on his four children, Noah, Eli, Naomi, and Sam, at their many sporting events. He and his wife, Jody, a pediatric nurse practitioner, are active in their church and community. Michael serves on the Board of Directors for Blessings in a Backpack, Fort Wayne, IN, a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating weekend food insecurity for children.
One of Vestia’s values is to model Wealth That Matters®. What does this mean to you?
