Jacque Denson CFP®

Financial Advisor

“I want to inspire people with my life. That comes in the form of actions, not just investing money in the proper channels to reach a goal dollar amount.”

Jacque’s passion is building strong, lasting relationships with her clients – she knows what truly motivates them to achieve their financial goals. She builds one-of-a-kind financial plans unique to each family and enjoys building different scenarios to walk through the multiple paths they can take to achieve their goals. Jacque loves seeing children grow up, hearing about vacations, helping secure financing for dream homes, and thinking creatively to help her clients realize their dreams. Though Jacque enjoys working with all types of doctors, her favorite clients are her female physicians. She is an advocate for equal pay for women in medicine and has experience devising timelines and strategies for maternity leaves to keep her female clients from being set back in wealth accumulation relative to their male counterparts. Jacque is passionate about seeing a change in the financial industry from a gender diversity standpoint and is inspired by the strides she has seen women make in medicine!

Jacque has been in the financial industry for over a decade, working in client service roles at Edward Jones, Lincoln Financial, and Larson Financial before joining the Vestia team as a Financial Advisor. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Maryville University in St. Louis, and holds her Series 66 registration, Life & Health Insurance License, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ®. As a goal-oriented, lifelong learner, Jacque is always looking to further the expertise she can offer her clients and thus is currently enrolled in the CERTIFIED INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT ANALYST® Certification Education Program through Yale University.

Outside the office, Jacque enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, and their children, Landon and Caroline; tending her backyard garden; and working with her husband on their side-hustle, a nutrition business for high school and college wrestlers.

What was your childhood like?

My parents worked at Boys & Girls Town for 13 years, then did foster care for 15 years after that, so growing up I always had a lot of different kids in the house (despite only having one biological brother) and learned how to interact with a variety of different personalities and cultures.

How did you decide to become an advisor?

I started as a Client Service Manager in 2012 and realized I loved interacting with clients on a personal basis, so started to move to positions that gave me more face time and personal collaboration with them. I do all my meetings via video conference, and they are what I look forward to each review season – getting updates on vacations, how children are doing, hearing about holiday trips, etc. I think doing my meetings online almost makes clients even more relaxed because they are in the comfort of their own home when we meet (and I love when pets or children run around in the background!).

What is the most important thing you’ve learned about helping other people?

That every need/goal is different and sometimes it will change along the way. You can’t use a cookie-cutter model for everyone, and that is what makes the biggest difference between having a computer and having a real person who knows your preferences and future goals. Customizing planning to each person is so important because everyone wants different things.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

With my family – every Saturday I visit my in-laws and every Sunday we hang out with my parents – it has just become a little tradition we have accidentally started since moving back to Nebraska and having my son. Most of the time this means socializing at my mom’s wine shop with my mother-in-law or watching my son play while watching football at my parents’ house. Weekends spent with family fulfill me the most.

What is your favorite part of what you do at Vestia?

Making a difference. My favorite emails or calls to get are from clients who have something going on, and the first person they think to call for advice is me. Even if it is about something not specific to investing money, like should I donate or sell my car? How should I save to take my family on vacation this summer? Can I afford to have another baby?

If the advice I give can bring them relief from stress and show them a way to achieve their goal, big or small, that is what gets me up and makes me excited to work every day.

One of Vestia’s values is to model “wealth that matters.” What does this mean to you?

My husband and I always say when we are grandparents, we want to sit with our grandchildren and tell them stories of our lives and make them dream about their future, rather than just buy material things for them to play with. I want to tell them of the trips I took, the funny interactions we had as a family growing up, and true life lessons from acting on our dreams. I want to inspire people with my life. That comes in the form of actions, not just investing money in the proper channels to reach a goal dollar amount.
